DJ Booking Guide:
UK & London

The UK has one of the world's most diverse and historically significant electronic music scenes. London alone hosts dozens of internationally respected clubs, and cities like Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow, and Leeds each have thriving scenes of their own. For DJs, the UK market offers huge opportunity — but also fierce competition.

1 Know the Scene

London key venues:

  • fabric — Farringdon, techno/house/DnB, world-renowned, 2,500 cap
  • XOYO — Shoreditch, reopened 2026, 800 cap, residency format
  • Ministry of Sound — Elephant & Castle, house/techno, 1,000+ cap
  • Printworks — Rotherhithe, large-scale events, 5,000 cap
  • FOLD — Canning Town, techno/house, underground
  • Phonox — Brixton, house/techno, curated
  • Village Underground — Shoreditch, 700 cap
  • KOKO — Camden, electronic/live
  • Drumsheds — warehouse, large-scale

Regional: Warehouse Project (Manchester, seasonal), SWG3 (Glasgow), Motion (Bristol), Canal Mills (Leeds).

2 How UK Clubs Book DJs

fabric, Printworks, and Ministry of Sound book primarily through agencies for headline slots. Emerging DJs get in through support slots and open decks.

Mid-tier London clubs (FOLD, Phonox, Village Underground, XOYO) are more accessible via cold outreach with a strong mix. Regional clubs (Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow) are significantly more accessible for emerging artists than London.

UK promoters value genre authenticity and crowd awareness. The UK scene is heavily promoter-driven — building relationships with promoters is as important as approaching clubs directly.

3 What to Send

A SoundCloud or Mixcloud link, short bio 2–3 sentences max, specific reason why you fit their programming. No press kits in the first message. Follow up once after 7 days.

4 The Boiler Room Effect

Boiler Room, based in London, has become the global standard for DJ exposure. A Boiler Room appearance dramatically increases booking inquiries.

While you can't cold-pitch Boiler Room directly, building relationships with their talent team through consistent presence in the London scene is the realistic path.

5 Finding Contacts

  • RA club profiles for most UK venues
  • Instagram DM effective for smaller clubs and independent promoters
  • fabric and Ministry of Sound have dedicated booking@ contacts
